With GDC around the corner and spring running out, many of us thought Infinity Ward would announce the release date for their first Modern Warfare 2 map pack.
As expected, Infinity Ward – via a Robert Bowling tweet – today confirmed our suspicions and announced that the first map pack for Modern Warfare 2 will hit Xbox Live on March 30th.
Time was, if you bought a used 360 hard drive, you could call a toll-free number and dupe Microsoft into sending a free transfer cable. Then they got wise and charged $12. It’s now a fully listed accessory, for $15.
A change to the Xbox Live code of conduct this morning now allows gamers to express their sexual orientation in Xbox Live profiles or Gamertags.
The new policy states:
“You may use the following terms to express your relationship orientation in your profile or Gamertag: Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender, Straight.
The discussion as to whether Australia should receive a R18+ certificate for videogames featuring mature or adult content will be taking place on an undisclosed date in April.
An R18+ certificate would enable consumers and indeed parents to be aware of a game’s content and perhaps curb the need to ban or censor releases that include adult material such as sex or violence.

Very soon being this week Yes, the Just cause 2 demo will be hitting the XBox Live marketplace on the 4th of March – 2 days from now at the time of writing! For fans of causing mayhem and havoc on tropical islands, this one’s for you. Apparently, the demo will contain all the abilities to be found in the full game – so expect to be grappling around the tropical paradise blowing stuff up and blowing the bad guys away.
