This weeks Bungie.net update was a big one, showing off Forge 2.0 or, as it is now known, Forge World. You will understand why soon. Turns out Bungie wasnt content with the clunky nature of Halo 3′s Forge, so they have completely re worked it into something wonderful, something the size of Liberty City. Yes, im talking about a map the size of GTA4. For Forge.
If that video doesnt help you understand the sheer size of Fore World, let me explain it to you. Forge World is massive. In fact, it’s the single largest expanse of multiplayer real estate ever included in a Halo game. And it’s seamless. If you’re playing around on the cliff and see some poor, unsuspecting Peurto Rican running around on Pinnacle far below, you can put a slug through his helmet from your lofty, far away perch.

But Forge World doesnt have to be massive. Remember those “Return to the Battlefield” warnings you received when you slipped too far past the boundaries in the Beta? You’ll be able to place (or remove) them with Forge. You can leave your playground wide open and allow players to explore the space, or you can confine them to a single base on Hemorrhage. It’s ultimately your call.
And that’s just one of the shiny new levers you’ll have at your fingertips. Overall, there are roughly 150 objects for you to tinker with, from building blocks to actual buildings, and that’s still not even close to scratching the surface of the customization options you’ll be given access to Bungie says. Looks like this is gonna be one hell of a game!
Also, you can drive the forklift now.

Forge in reach is looking to be the best level editor/creator in any game ever IMHO. The new map looks giant and the extra features they’ve added this time around are amazing! I’ve never known a company listen to fan feedback as much as Bungie does…
